• Thousands lose power in Greely due to 'animal contact'

  Almost 5,000 customers were out of power in the Greely region Saturday afternoon due to an outage caused by “animal contact.”
  Hydro One was not more suspect on the animal suspected, but squirrels have been known to break lightning resisters on power lines, which can lead to outages.
  Repair crews were able to locate the break and power was restored before 4 p.m.

  Peter Adamakos, Ottawa’s animated animator, finally realized that, as much as he loved his lifetime collection of animation memorabilia, it was time to let someone in on the fun.
  So he and his supporters set up the “Animation Celebration” at Algonquin College Saturday and Sunday to part with thousands of items, from vintage animation products to collectable posters, records, comic books and toys, some of which date back about 100 years.

  Those who routinely cross from Ottawa to Gatineau may have noticed a new structure on the Portage Bridge.
  Those who don’t may soon want to make the crossing. It’s called the Gather-Ring, and it’s more than just a pretty place to rest your feet.
