  Students at Algonquin College may have their fall term extended to make up for time lost during the strike by faculty, says college president Cheryl Jensen.
  In a letter to students, Jensen said the college will try to avoid extending the end of the school year, too, but that  depends on how long the strike lasts.

  The next city council will face a decision on how to fund future road safety programs, possibly relying on fine revenue rather than property taxes.
  Rob Wilkinson, co-ordinator of the Safer Roads Ottawa program, said councillors have asked staff to look at a self-funding model to deliver the road safety program. Other than property taxes, the only source of revenue for such a program would likely be traffic fines, which are currently part of city hall’s general revenue.

  A single-car rollover on the Queensway on Wednesday sent two people to hospital with minor injuries.
  The mid-afternoon mishap occurred on the eastbound 417 adjacent to the Canadian Tire Centre, snarling rush hour traffic.
  According to an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson, one occupant suffered minor neck injuries while the other suffered slight abdominal ones.
