  The Capital Pride Festival kicks off Monday with seven days of activities that will be capped off on Aug. 27 with the annual Pride parade.

  Pauline Jodoin, 54, of Cumberland has been missing since Sunday morning, she was last seen in the area of Montreal Road and Aviation Parkway.

  The mother of four allegedly killed by her son in their Sandy Hill apartment building Friday was beaten to death with a baseball bat, the Citizen has learned.
  Rachel Mair’s body was found inside apartment 1010 at the Sandringham apartment building at 85 Range Rd. after police responded to a report of a disturbance on the 10th floor around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

  The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the death of a 69-year-old American man in a boat collision during a regatta in Rideau Ferry.
  Officers from the Lanark County detachment responded to a water collision that occurred during the Rideau Ferry Regatta around 2 p.m. Saturday.
  One of the boats involved in a scheduled race “became airborne,” police said. The driver was ejected from the boat and was critically injured.

  Gatineau has issued boil a preventative water boil advisory for two sectors of the city bordering the Gatineau River. 
  The two sectors each include a stretch of Rue Saint-Louis as well as streets nearby. Residents of these areas are advised to boil their water for a minute before consuming it. The advisory only includes water that is to be consumed or used to brush teeth.
