• No swimming: City issues advisory for five beaches

  All five of the city’s urban beaches have been placed under a no-swim advisory.
  Mooney’s Bay, Britannia Beach, Westboro Beach, Petrie Island East Bay and Petrie Island river beaches were all covered by the advisory Saturday, prompted by heavy rainfall. The advisory was initiated on Friday, when the city logged 18 mm of rain.

  An Ottawa basketball coach has been charged with sexual offenses against a woman under the age of 18.
  Dejan Tanasijevic, 62-years-old, is a well known coach and personal trainer in the women’s basketball community.

  Ottawa Fury FC finally got in some practice time with interim head coach Julian de Guzman and that had to be a good thing.
  In a week when Fury FC replaced head coach Paul Dalglish on Monday, flew to Florida on Tuesday and lost 3-0 to Orlando City B on Wednesday, players needed to see how de Guzman wanted things done compared to the methods of the man he replaced.
