Divers search for man in fifties missing in Lac Ramsay
Sûreté du Québec divers have been called to Lac Ramsay, in the west end of Gatineau Park, in the search for a man in his fifties who fell from a boat Saturday morning.
MRC des Collines police said the man was aboard the boat with a companion when the incident occurred.
The companion attempted to find the man before calling police.
An initial search was unsuccessful and the divers were called.
Police said an investigation is underway. The man’s identity was not released. -

Man suffers broken legs when struck by car while mowing lawn
A 51-year-old man is in serious but stable condition in hospital with serious leg fractures after he was struck by a car while he was mowing his lawn Saturday.
Ottawa paramedics were called to the scene on Kilborn Avenue in the city’s southeast area at 12:48 p.m. and treated the victim for leg fractures.
The driver of the car, an 83-year-old woman, was also treated for minor injuries.
A police investigation continues.

Gatineau police seek suspect in attack on security guard, apparent firearm threat
Gatineau police are searching for a suspect after a security guard was assaulted and a passing motorist was threatened with what appeared to be a firearm Saturday morning.
The incidents occurred at about 1 a.m. on Hanson Street, near the Agwàta water show site.

Ontario highway sign goes from James Snow Parkway to Jon Snow Parkway
MILTON, Ont. — An Ontario highway sign has received the “Game of Thrones” treatment.
Motorists travelling on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Milton, Ont., just west of Toronto, on Friday morning saw the name of the James Snow Parkway exit sign changed to the Jon Snow Parkway.
The name James on the sign was blacked out and replaced with Jon — a reference to the character Jon Snow, played by British actor Kit Harington -
Wynne promises unspecified relief for businesses amid planned minimum wage hikes
Premier Kathleen Wynne said Friday she is working on ideas to support Ontario businesses through major labour reforms, suggesting she is looking more at offsetting unrelated costs than pulling back the labour changes themselves.
Many businesses and business groups have voiced opposition to the changes, in particular a plan to boost the minimum wage to $14 on Jan. 1 and to $15 in 2019. They have said a 32 per cent increase in less than 18 months will be tough to absorb.

Motorcycle collision with serious injuries closes Eagleson near village of Richmond
The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a serious collision on Eagleson Road near Richmond, involving two motorcycles.
Eagleson Road between Brophy Drive and Ottawa Street will remain closed to traffic until further notice.
Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Ottawa Police’s Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481.
