Backup Berger ready to step up for Redblacks
It’s not like Adam Berger has an extensive resume on the defensive side of the ball in the CFL.
But in his four seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, the 27-year-old stepped up and performed well whenever he was called on.
On Wednesday night against the Montreal Alouetttes, he expects to do the same. Berger, signed by the Ottawa Redblacks as a free agent before this season, will start at safety, with Antoine Pruneau moving to linebacker to replace Nick Taylor, who has been placed on the six -

Government kills its push to collect all departments under single Canada.ca domain
The federal government is pulling an about-face on plans to bring all of its various agency and departmental websites under the Canada.ca domain name.

Personal support workers in Ontario lack oversight of most other professions
Arborists, hairdressers, even swine herders are governed by a regulatory body in Ontario, which holds them to professional standards. But personal support workers — who make up the backbone of the increasingly overtaxed long-term health care system — are not.
The lack of a college or regulatory body for personal support workers — something other health workers have — is both puzzling and worrisome, says Michael Hurley, president of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions a -

Something is rotten at our long-term care homes. Let's fix it

Antiques: Painting produces re-Ward
Q. I’ve been looking after my parents’ effects and thought I’d find out more about this canvas painting which is a favourite of mine. It’s very charming with the girl sitting on a branch watching some ducks and ducklings. The size of just the canvas is 34 by 44 cm (13.5 x 17.5 inches). The lower left corner has a script signature of ‘Charles C. Ward’ and a date of 1883. I will keep it but am curious about value.
Kitt, Caledon
