Ottawa Champions rough up Sussex County Miners
The Ottawa Champions combined a 16-hit attack and some nifty pitching to pound out a 10-1 victory against the Sussex County Miners in a Can-Am League baseball game at RCGT Park on Saturday night.

Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Yifan Xu of China advanced to the third round of women’s doubles in the French Open on Saturday with a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Madison Brengle of the United States and Anna Smith of Britain.

Rope rescue takes place after woman falls 12 metres into ravine
Firefighters performed a difficult rope rescue after a woman fell into a ravine near a waterfall in the Fallingbrook area of Orléans on Saturday afternoon.
The woman fell approximately 12 metres (40 feet) into the ravine.
Fire officials dispatched the rope rescue team, and assisted paramedics in removing the woman from danger.
She was transported to hospital. Paramedics did not have an immediate update on her condition. -
