Jazzahead! Report I: At Germany's global hub for jazz business, we started with Finnish Night
In late April, I and thousands of other visitors to the city of Bremen in Northern Germany enjoyed a weekend that might as well have been a trip to an alternate universe — a fascinating place where jazz seems to be not only on everyone’s minds but even financially viable.
Jazzahead!, as the event which comes with its own exclamation point is called, is well known to European jazz people but probably less so to their North American peers, who likely know jazzahead! through its impress -

Ottawa receives more than double average rain in May, gets rewarded with more thunderstorms
The refrain of ‘rain, rain, go away’ has turned into something unprintable in a family newspaper.
After besting a May 29 record for rain and winding down a month where we’ve already more than doubled typical precipitation, there’s a risk of thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday and a risk of showers every day through Friday.
With 3 days left, #Ottawa's total rain this May is 171.2mm, more than double the average of 71.9mm. #OttWx pic.twitter.com/Zk07XLwfB7
