  Police in New Westminster have released photos of suspect alleged to have stolen a poppy donation tin from the Royal Canadian Legion Thursday.
  Police say at around 2 p.m., a man entered the legion at 631 6th Street to order food.
  After the man paid for his food at the cash register, the staff noticed that the donation tin for poppies was missing.

  An early-morning shooting in Surrey has left one person dead.
  Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Surrey RCMP received a report of a person who was on the ground outside of a home in the in the 14200-block 70A Avenue, in Newton.

  B.C.’s highest court has upheld a ruling that strikes down as unconstitutional a mandatory minimum sentence of 90 days in prison for possession of child pornography.
