  A cold front will bring heavy rain and strong winds to Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Saturday night, according to Environment Canada.
  Winds up to 70 km/hr are expected to develop around midnight ahead of the rain, said a special weather statement. After the front, “strong westerly winds with gusts up to 90 km/h will develop before Sunday morning.”

  A salmonella outbreak that has sickened 42 people in B.C. since mid-June has been linked to long English cucumbers, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
  In an update Friday, the health agency said five more cases have been connected to the outbreak in western Canada, for a total of 50 cases.
