  A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday morning after an SUV collided with a broken-down semi truck on the shoulder of Highway 1 in Langley.
  The crash closed the highway eastbound for about three hours, from about 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., causing gridlock for people leaving Metro Vancouver.
  The highway was reopened by about 9:30 a.m., but congestion remained throughout the morning.
