  NPA coucillor Hector Bremner will seek the mayoral nomination, it was announced Monday.
  “I’m excited today – with the support of my wife Virginia and two kids Carlo and Gianluca – to confirm that I am seeking the NPA nomination for mayor of our great city Vancouver,” Bremner wrote in a statement shared to Facebook.

  Metro Vancouver’s third shooting in four days left bullet holes in a home and two vehicles but caused no injuries.
  A Port Coquitlam residence located in the 3800 block of Ulster Street was the most recent scene of a shooting, where a drive-by Sunday around 8:30 p.m. left bullet holes in the home’s garage door and shattered the rear windshields of two parked vehicles.

  B.C. plans to put the corkscrews to Alberta over its wine boycott by filing a formal dispute under Canada’s free trade agreement.

  A Duncan man who beat his 16-week-old puppy to death is headed to jail and will be banned from owning animals for a decade.
  Robert Carolan has been sentenced to four months in jail after it was found his puppy Dux had suffered severed blunt force trauma.
  Carolan initially told authorities the puppy had accidentally drowned after he left him in a bathtub and stepped out for a smoke, but could not explain why the puppy was bleeding and had other injuries.

  The storm which brought snow to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver on Saturday knocked out power to 31,000 customers, B.C. Hydro says.
  The outages were reported late Saturday and crews were still working Sunday evening to restore power.

  Kamloops Search and Rescue has been called out to help Kamloops Mounties find a 19-year-old man who went missing after attending a house party in Sun Peaks.
  Ryan Shtuka went to the gathering at a residence on Burfield Drive on Friday night, but has not been seen nor heard from since then.
