Makeover: Vancouver project manager's dry, brassy hair gets a much-needed boost
via vancouversun.comJoanna Li, 34, is a project manager and was looking for a colour refresh as her hair was looking brassy and feeling dry.
Li has medium textured hair which was previously highlighted blond. She hadn’t coloured it in several months, and felt like her ends were too bright and brassy compared to her natural colour. She wanted to brighten her hair to a natural looking overall colour that would be easy to maintain.
I opted for foiliage colour placement in her hair, which is a b -

Last December, my boss asked me if I could think of anyone at the office who used to be active and hasn’t exercised in awhile, who would be interested in training to run 10 kilometres. Why women are bucking the decline in cancer

Sun Run training at night? Latest gear helps make safety a priority

via vancouversun.comSome members of Vancouver’s Chinatown said the community is being left out in the Northeast False Creek plan which goes before council on Tuesday.
The sweeping plan lays out the vision for a waterfront neighbourhood with mixed-used developments that would eventually be home to up to 12,000 people. But for some, the crux of the plan lies in two unassuming blocks between Prior and Union, east and west of Main Street — land expropriated in the late 1960s from Chinatown and Hogan’s -

Citizens on alert: How to be the eyes and ears before the police arrive
via vancouversun.comThe sketchy guy leaving your underground parking doesn’t look like he belongs and, sure enough, when you pull in there’s a car with its window smashed.
The guy was wearing a dark hoody and jeans, but that tells the police nothing. His shoes, on the other hand, noticing their colour and brand is something a police officer can use.
“Every single suspect wears a black hoodie and jeans,” Heather Ramsay said at a Vancouver Police Department seminar on identifying suspects and -

The Last Continent: Massive iceberg has been floating around Antarctica for 17 years
via vancouversun.comSCOTIA SEA — Overnight, the Akademik Ioffe changed course. Instead of heading toward Elephant Island as was initially planned, we detoured to take a look at a massive iceberg.
It’s called B15Z. It’s a tabular ’berg, flat-topped with steep, dirty grey walls, which makes it seem more island than iceberg. But in front of and behind it are smaller tabular icebergs that glisten white and blue.
It is 24 kilometres long and 11 kilometres wide.
It took nearly an hour to pass by i -
