Ivan Henry is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit filed by five women who claim he sexually assaulted them more than 35 years ago — and plans to seek special costs against them if he succeeds.
Henry, who was wrongfully convicted of being a serial rapist and spent 27 years behind bars before being released, denies the claims of the women in a response to the lawsuit filed recently in B.C. Supreme Court.
In his response, he objects that the five plaintiffs are not identified by name and says their

B.C.'s first baby of 2018 was in no hurry to arrive
via vancouversun.comIt was just nine seconds into the New Year that B.C.’s first baby of 2018 was born.
The 3.8-kilogram girl entered the world south of the Fraser at Surrey Memorial Hospital Monday at 12:00:09 a.m., born to first-time mother Manpreet Kaur Nijjar and father Hardip Singh Shergill.
The child is without a name just yet, but that will come soon, said Shergill. He explained that his daughter would receive her name during a baby-naming ceremony at the gurdwara where they worship.

Former B.C. man identified as pilot in seaplane crash in Australia
via vancouversun.comA pilot who died following a seaplane crash in Australia on New Year’s Eve is a former B.C. man who had previously worked with Harbour Air.
The single-engine plane sank rapidly after crashing into the Hawkesbury River in New South Wales on Sunday.
Those on board the plane included pilot Gareth Morgan, as well as prominent British businessman Richard Cousins, Cousins’ fiancée and her daughter and Cousins’ two sons. All six have died.
