ART SEEN: Gesture leaks out in works by Jeremy Hof at Monte Clark Gallery
via vancouversun.comThey look like coloured blocks of concrete left over from a construction site or maybe rocks used in some industrial process. In fact, they’re leftovers from making traditional sculptures out of materials such as soapstone. They’re distinctive because of their unusual combination of rough and smooth surfaces.
What’s particularly striking are the colours: they’re in several pastel shades that include yellow, mauve, and olive.
They started out as found objects but they&rsqu -

Douglas Todd: Who decides the land is 'sacred'?
via vancouversun.comKtunaxa elder Chris Luke Sr. lives in B.C.’s Purcell Mountains, about 1,000 kilometres east of Vancouver. He doesn’t speak English and he knows how to keep his silence.
Still, Luke is a powerful man.

Lost and The 100 actor Henry Ian Cusick turns his hand to online storytelling
via vancouversun.comWhen the TV sensation Lost blew up over a decade ago, one of its stars kind of missed the whole must-see TV hullabaloo that surrounded the one-hour drama.
