MEC building new flagship store near Olympic Village
via vancouversun.comMountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) has broken ground on its new Vancouver flagship retail store at the northeast corner of Quebec Street and 2nd Ave. on the edge of the Olympic Village.

The dog has been his constant companion for a decade, including a year where they were homeless. Matthews said through it all, Bounder has given him emotional stability and a sense of responsibility.

Young man stabbed outside Vancouver Art Gallery
via vancouversun.comA young man is in hospital after he was stabbed on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery Monday night.
Police were called just after 11 p.m. to the Robson Street side of the gallery, where they found a 21-year-old Surrey man suffering from a knife wound.

Two ferries search for passenger gone overboard in Strait of Georgia
via vancouversun.comA pair of vessels from BC Ferries were involved with a search for a passenger who fell into the water on Monday afternoon.
According to a BC Ferries spokesperson, the passenger was reported overboard from the Queen of Cowichan about 5:45 p.m.
The ferry, which left Horseshoe Bay about 5 p.m. was about halfway to Nanaimo. The Queen of Oak Bay, which left Nanaimo about the same time, was also in the area and stopped to assist in the search.
