A&W chief executive retiring next February, COO Susan Senecal to assume top job

The North Vancouver-headquartered company says president and chief operating officer Susan Senecal will take over the role on Feb. 16, 2018 — the same day that current chief executive Paul Hollands retires.
Senecal, who has been with the burger chain for 25 years, will also replace Hollands as CEO of the A&W Royalties Income Fund.

Mayor Gregor Robertson signed the C40 Fossil-Fuel-Free Streets Declaration along with the mayors of Paris, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Mexico City, Seattle, Cape Town, London, Milan, Quito and Auckland.

The telecom giant has stepped in to save Vancouver’s Santa Claus Parade, after organizers made a public plea seeking more sponsors to sign on and help save the parade.
Earlier this month, it was announced the annual event was in jeopardy due to a budget shortfall of about $150,000 this year. It typically costs $400,000 to put on the parade, with the majority of the costs going toward policing, float construction and parade production.

RCMP warn about falsified kidnappings targeting Chinese nationals

Mars, a 34-year-old Vancouver resident, was found dead inside a West End apartment near Jervis and Harwood streets on Oct. 13 just before 4 p.m.

via vancouversun.comB.C. Ferries has closed its Duke Point terminal south of Nanaimo due to a hydraulic-fluid spill from the Coastal Inspiration.
Frank Camaraire, director of fleet engineering for B.C. Ferries, said about 120 litres of hydraulic fluid leaked into the water.
