A mother, father and their seven-year-old daughter were found dead after a house fire in Nanaimo on Tuesday, police say.
Nanaimo RCMP Cpl. Jon Stuart confirmed Wednesday morning that the three people who died were a family and all lived in the Nicol Street home.
Amberlee Scarr, her ex-husband Jason Stephenson and their daughter Piper have been identified by family as the deceased.
A man who identified himself as Scarr’s uncle said she was a “beautiful person.”

SkyTrain delays during morning commute

TransLink says a track issue caused a delay to SkyTrain service between Lougheed and Moody Centre stations on the Millennium Line. The problem has since been restored, but passengers can expect delays as operations return to normal.

RCMP seek public's help in finding missing Abbotsford woman
via vancouversun.comLangley RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance to located 20-year-old Kristina Ward of Abbotsford.
Ward was reported missing Sept. 25 by Abbotsford police. RCMP say it is possible she may have been in the North Surrey area on Sept. 27. She is also known to frequent the Langley city core area.

Three people found dead in Nanaimo house fire

A neighbour called the Nanaimo fire department about noon Tuesday to report that an older home in the 700 block of Nicol Street was engulfed in flames.
Despite the heavy flames, firefighters were able to enter the home for an offensive attack, said Nanaimo Fire Chief Karen Fry.
The fire was extinguished and firefighters found the bodies of three people inside.
