• Port Coquitlam fire damages three homes

  Several homes have been badly damaged by fire in Port Coquitlam.
  Cpl. Michael McLaughlin of the Coquitlam RCMP says nine homes were evacuated when the blaze began around 5:45 on Tuesday morning.
  No injuries were reported, but McLaughlin says three homes were severely affected and several others suffered water damage and melted vinyl siding.
  He says it’s unclear where or how the fire started, but police and fire crews are investigating.

• Homicide police called after dead body found in Richmond

  Police are investigating after a body was found in Richmond early Tuesday.
  Around 4:30 a.m. Richmond RCMP were called to Garden City Road and Granville Avenue for the report of a dead body. Investigators on site determined the body was that of a man and that the death was suspicious and possibly targeted.
  The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to look into the death, alongside Richmond RCMP.
  No further details are available.

  A 24-year-old Abbotsford man has been arrested following a shooting in Chilliwack last week.
  RCMP were called just before midnight on Oct. 2 to the 9400-block of Corbould Street for the report of a shooting. Investigators on scene determined the target was a parked vehicle and that the suspect had been driving in a white sedan.

  KAMLOOPS — The family of a B.C. university executive who died suddenly last month says the death was caused by an accidental overdose.
  Relatives of Christopher Seguin say in a statement that the 39-year-old man was taken to hospital following an overdose in his hotel room in Victoria and died Sept. 22.
  Seguin was vice-president of advancement at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

  A cyclist is in hospital in serious condition after a hit-and-run incident in Surrey on Monday afternoon.
