• Police investigating shots fired in Surrey on Sunday morning

  Police are investigating after shots were fired at a car in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighbourhood on Sunday morning.
  Around 10:55 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the 17200-block 65th Avenue after callers reported what sounded like gunfire nearby.
  Upon arrival, policed determined shots had been fired at an occupied vehicle, with bullets striking the vehicle and a nearby home.

• Stabbing at house party sends one to the hospital, suspect on the run

  A man is recovering in hospital following a stabbing at a house party in Abbotsford late Saturday.
  Just before midnight, Abbotsford police were called to a home in the 2200-block of Clearbrook Road where an assault involving a weapon had been reported at a house party. Police arrived to find a 22-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

  The road underneath the Commercial-Broadway station pedestrian overpass was closed last weekend so a new section could be hoisted into place.
  TransLink has shared video of the operation, which saw large cranes parked on both the north and south sides of Broadway on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.The section the cranes hoisted weighs 13,600 kilograms.

  A collision closed the Coquihalla Highway to northbound traffic for several hours on Saturday afternoon.
  The collision was apparently about 10 kilometres south of Merritt.

  Chip Wilson has begun construction of a hulking, controversial dock at his Sunshine Coast property.
  CBC News reported Saturday that Wilson’s neighbour, Arnhild Hognestad, confirmed she could see construction barges outside her window and that piles had been drilled into the seabed outside their homes north of Sechelt.

  Vancouver police say an eight-hour standoff with a distraught man who was tossing things from his West End apartment into the street below has ended peacefully.
  Officers were called to an address at Comox and Chilco streets around 6 a.m. about “a man in a crisis,” said VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard in a release.

  This Thanksgiving, Metro Vancouver is begging its residents to cease the grease. 
  Every year, Metro and its member municipalities spend more than $2 million unblocking sewage pipes and repairing or replacing infrastructure damaged by grease poured down drains, according to a release.
