• Saturday collision closes Coquihalla northbound; Now reopened

  A collision closed the Coquihalla Highway to northbound traffic for several hours on Saturday afternoon.
  Beginning about 11:40 a.m., traffic was being turned around at the Othello Road interchange, with drivers headed to the Interior being told to detour and take Highway 1 or Highway 3.
  The road was re-opened about 2 p.m. Drivers were told to expect delays while congestion cleared.
  Southbound lanes were briefly closed as well.

  Othman Hamdan was acquitted of all criminal charges by a B.C. Supreme Court judge two weeks ago. But the supporter of the Islamic State was ordered this week to be held in jail until a full hearing on his admissibility to stay in Canada is held.

  When Bob Dylan came to Vancouver on March 26, 1966, his keyboard player Garth Hudson needed a Hammond organ. So promoter Hugh Pickett rented one from Eaton’s for $100.
  How do we know? Because Pickett kept an invoice in a Bob Dylan file, which he had stashed away for decades in the basement of his home in Kerrisdale.
  Pickett passed away on Feb. 13, 2006, but it took his companion Gordon Boyd almost a decade to sort through all his stuff.

  Police are investigating a stabbing in Surrey Friday evening that sent one man to hospital.
  Surrey RCMP were called to the 18700-block of 64th Avenue, in the Clayton Heights area, just before 8 p.m.
