• Stunt woman dies while filming Deadpool 2 in Vancouver

  A stunt woman has died following a motorcycle accident on the set of Deadpool 2 in downtown Vancouver.
  The accident occurred just after 8 a.m. on Monday.
  Witnesses say the woman was filming a stunt when she lost control of her bike, jumped a curb and crashed into Shaw Tower across from Canada Place.
  She was treated by ambulance personnel but police say she died at the scene.
  Her named has not been released.

• Backcountry closures due to wildfires put further economic damper on B.C.'s Cariboo region

  WILLIAMS LAKE — Businesses in British Columbia’s wildfire-ravaged Cariboo region are bracing for more economic hardship after the closure of much of the backcountry during peak tourism season.
  Executive director Claudia Blair of the Williams Lake Visitor Centre says trails are closed and travellers are limited in what they can do in the popular summer destination.

• Deadpool 2 stunt person injured after motorcycle crashes into Shaw tower

  A stunt person was injured Monday on the set of Deadpool 2 in downtown Vancouver.
  Witnesses say a stunt woman lost control of a motorcycle, jumped a curb and crashed into Shaw Tower across from Canada Place.
  She was taken away by ambulance. 
  The accident occurred just after 8 a.m.
  A motorcycle remains on the ground in front of a shattered-out glass window at the back of Shaw Tower. Police have taped off the area.

• Abbotsford man charged with second degree murder

  An Abbotsford man has been charged with second degree murder in the July 4 death of Clarence Crothers.
  The body of Crothers, a 62-year-old Abbotsford resident, was found inside an apartment in the 33000-block of Braun Avenue.  The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team didn’t reveal the cause of death but said his injuries were “consistent with homicide.”
