Instead, Sea of Stories focuses on the second decade of the last century, when a school, a train station and a p -

Digging into Indigenous history with Vancouver's staff archaeologist
via vancouversun.comA decision had to be made, in the late 19th century, when workers building the road encircling Stanley Park came upon a place of tremendous historical importance to local First Nations. The village site, near where Lumbermen’s Arch currently stands, included buried ancestral remains.
They elected not to simply pave over the archeologically sensitive area — instead, they opted to dig up the site, which reportedly included everything from artifacts to skeletons, and use it in the -
Opinion: Vancouver gets a new town square
via vancouversun.comVancouver is finally getting the central square it deserves and has long lacked.
The plaza between the Vancouver Art Gallery and Georgia Street has been under construction for almost a year. However, planning for this key public space, which had deteriorated into a clutter of crumbling elements and bark-mulch ground cover, has been ongoing for several years.
When it’s fully completed, Vancouver will get its first truly urban square in many decades (not counting Jack Poole Plaza which, bein -
Letters: Bridge to replace Massey Tunnel is only sensible option
via vancouversun.comThe replacement of the Massey Tunnel is long overdue. I have lived in Tsawwassen for 15 years and the backups in both directions occur during the entire day. One cannot pinpoint a single reason for it. Increased truck traffic due to port expansions, increased housing development in Tsawwassen and South Surrey, tolls on other routes.
The only option is a bridge. The tunnel is not up to today’s earthquake standards. It is crumbling. Millions of dollars have already been spent on site prepara -
