Sometimes, Instagram just isn’t worth it.
Vancouver Police are recommending charges against two Millennials after the pair were found scaling the guy-wires on Lions Gate Bridge early Thursday morning, in pursuit of a sky-high photo op.Around 8:30 a.m., a driver called 911 after spotting a man with a headlamp and a large backpack climb over the railing of the bridge. The man then began climbing up the guy-wires and reached a height of about 50 to 70-feet above the bridge deck.

Anthony Gismondi: Time to move on appellations in B.C.
via vancouversun.com
With the change in government in B.C., it’s probably safe to say there will be no change in the Okanagan Valley wine map this summer.
I’m not so sure there would have been any change under the previous regime either, since they have been sitting on the findings of the B.C. Wine Appellation Task Group since April 2016 for reasons only they could explain.
The Golden Mile Bench sub-appellation not withstanding, nothing much has changed regarding the Okanagan Valley wine map since t -

Daily Poll: Do you support Vancouver's proposed Airbnb regulations?
via vancouversun.com
This week, the City of Vancouver proposed new Airbnb regulations that would cut down on short-term rentals cutting into the city’s rental stock.
Those wishing to rent out a spare bedroom or their entire primary property would be required to get a $49 annual business licence, as well as a one-time $54 activation fee. Hosts would be required to post a valid licence number on their Airbnb listing.
Both the city and Airbnb would work together to verify licensed hosts, according to reporter Che -

To some folks (me!), the thriller in Peru is not Machu Picchu but Lima’s food scene. via vancouversun.com
Faced with a rental-housing crunch and the country’s lowest vacancy rates, the City of Vancouver is proposing new regulations aimed at curbing short-term rentals — a move it estimates could restore about 1,000 units for long-term renters.
The rules, which also require online rental platforms such as Airbnb or Expedia to only allow listings with valid business licences, could be a litmus test in terms of how these companies operate in Canada.
