It’s Ocean Awareness Week and yet there are storm clouds hanging over these waters.
The Paris Accord isn’t the only thing Donald Trump wants out of. He has also proposed eliminating federal funding for climate change, related research and even to museums. These are unprecedented steps to ignore humanitarian and global issues. They’re short-sighted and will endanger the world as we know life on Earth.
Today, our aquariums, museums and zoos have changed dramatically. Some, like T -
Opinion: Education, interaction key to ocean conservation
via vancouversun.com
We’re so lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, thanks in large part to the Pacific Ocean right at our doorsteps.
Ask yourself: Why do you love the ocean? Why is the ocean important to you?
On World Ocean’s Day on June 8, it’s a good time to remember we’re all connected to the oceans no matter where we live — and to step back and evaluate how we’re really doing when it comes to the sustainability of our environment.

Vaughn Palmer: NDP atoning for Site C errors while working to improve tone
via vancouversun.com
VICTORIA — For a brief moment this week, it appeared the curtain had been pulled back and John Horgan’s frustrations with Christy Clark were pouring out in an angry letter about the Site C project.
“Given your record of misstatements and errors,” the NDP leader wrote the premier, “it is impossible to trust anything you say regarding the Site C project schedules and cost.”

State funeral for Amazing Grace celebrates Socred 'first lady' McCarthy
via vancouversun.com

McCarthy’s casket entered Christ Church Cathedr -

via vancouversun.com
VICTORIA — The largest, most expensive project in B.C. history continued to degenerate into a political mess Wednesday, after B.C.’s Green party leader crashed a media briefing on the proposed $9-billion Site C dam and publicly rebuked top B.C. Hydro officials for misleading numbers.
Green Leader Andrew Weaver said he was shocked and troubled with Hydro’s arguments on the Site C dam after sitting, uninvited, through an hour-long media briefing by CEO Jessica McDonald and other -
