Christy Clark won’t resign as B.C. premier — yet
via vancouversun.com
Christy Clark may not have enough seats to win a confidence vote, but she won’t resign without a fight.

“We have a duty to meet the house and to test its confidence. Constitutional conventions tells us that and I intend to do that in very short order,” she said.

In the midst of B.C.’s opioid crisis, and with graduation celebrations fast approaching, some parents are calling for overdose training and naloxone kits to be widely available to teens.
Anakana Schofield learned how to use naloxone last fall because she wanted to be able to recognize and respond if someone overdosed. Her 17-year-old son, Cúán, took an emergency medical responder course last summer, where he learned the same skills.
This weekend, before Cúán att -

5 things you need to know about the NDP-Green party agreement
via vancouversun.com
Who is in charge of the province right now, and what kind of political power do they have?
Christy Clark remains premier, and will be premier until she resigns or is asked to resign by the lieutenant-governor after a non-confidence vote in the house.
But as premier, Clark is in a weak position. If the agreement between the B.C. NDP and the B.C. Greens holds up, it means Clark won’t have enough seats to win confidence votes.
“It might be harsh but not inaccurate to say she is, at pres -
Fundraising call goes out for rescued parrots living in temporary Vancouver homes
via vancouversun.com
A year ago, nearly 600 parrots who lived at a Vancouver Island refuge needed new homes.
In February 2016, the owner of the World Parrot Refuge in Coombs passed away. Wendy Huntbatch had devoted much of her life to caring for parrots abandoned by owners and breeders.
The refuge stayed open until August, but as documented by former Sun columnist Pete McMartin, conditions were dire at the end. Caregivers have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars nursing the sic -
Future of politics in B.C. in Clark's hands — for time being, at least
via vancouversun.com
A power-sharing deal may be in place between the B.C. NDP and Green parties, but what’s next in B.C. politics is in the hands of Premier Christy Clark.
With the B.C. Liberals winning the most seats in the May 9 election, Clark remains premier. But some pundits and political watchers say her time is up.
“She has to decide whether to resign in light of…a credible agreement between the NDP and the Greens, or try to form government and see if she can give a speech from the t -

VICTORIA — The word “historic” gets tossed around with abandon these days, but that was the right way to describe what unfolded Monday afternoon in the foyer outside the B.C. legislature chamber.
The setting itself was apt: The ceremonial entrance open and the chamber beyond fully lighted, 87 desks in place, awaiting confirmation as to who would be sitting on the government side, who in Opposition.
The first sign of where things were headed came shortly before 1 p.m. as NDP sta -
