Flood warning extended to Thursday

Water levels within local watercourses are elevated due to the recent rains combined with snowmelt, the authority says. They are expected to continue to rise over the next few days with the forecast precipitation and continued snowmelt.

Woman faces arson charge

Police allege that the fire was limited to the bedroom area of a residential unit and that the accused had intentionally set the fire.
Tashina Wabano-Chevrier, 25, of Commanda is charged with arson.

North Bay police seize cocaine, cash
via nugget.caNorth Bay police seized 2.7g of cocaine and $2,625 in Canadian currency Saturday following a traffic stop on McKeown Avenue.
When the vehicle was stopped, police allege the lone occupant exited the vehicle and ran. Police pursued and caught the female suspect.
Leeann Stewart, 25, of Barrie, is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a controlled drug and possession of property obtained by crime.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse May 21.
