  Leonard Krog announced he will be seeking re-election for a third term as mayor of Nanaimo.
  Krog first entered politics representing Parksville-Qualicum with the B.C. NDP from 1991- 1996. In 2005, he was elected to represent Nanaimo in 2005, then again in 2009, 2013 and 2017.
  In 2018 he was elected Nanaimo’s mayor, leading to him resigning his seat as MLA. In 2022 he was re-elected as mayor.

  A wildfire in Washington State has crossed the border into B.C., the North Cascades National Park Service Complex says.
