  Nanaimo is the latest community in B.C. to be issued a drug posioning alert, following a higher rate of drug poisonings in the community.
  The alert was issued by Island Health on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and comes just a week after a province-wide alert was issued by the BCCDC on Jan. 26.

  A pedestrian was taken to hospital in serious condition after they were hit on the Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan on Monday, Feb. 2.
  BC Emergency Health Services said they received a call at 10:02 p.m. on Monday night about a motor vehicle incident at the TCH and Dobson Road.
  Two ambulances with primary care paramedics and an ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene.
