A pedestrian is in stable condition after being struck by a SUV in Montreal’s St-Michel neighbourhood early Saturday morning.
Following a 911 call, police arrived on the scene near the intersection of Pie-IX Blvd. and 44th St. at around 3:45 a.m.
They found the 58-year-old man on the ground. He suffered a head injury and was hospitalized, at first in critical condition.
The driver, a 45-year-old man, was not injured.

Montreal just endured a notably hot, humid August: Environment Canada
Quebec followed one of its hottest months on record with a swelteringly hot and humid August.
According to Environment Canada, the average temperatures in August were two to three degrees above normal in all regions of the province other than the far north. Record temperatures were reached in Montreal, Bagotville and La Pocatière.
In Montreal, the average temperature in August was 22.9 degrees, roughly three degrees more than normal.

Man stabbed during downtown Montreal altercation
A man in his twenties was injured in a stabbing in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident took place around 1 a.m. at the intersection of de Maisonneuve Blvd. and Saint-Dominique St.
An altercation between two groups, which broke out for reasons that remain unknown, degenerated.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen. His life is not believed to be in danger.

Pedestrian in critical condition after collision with SUV in St-Michel
A pedestrian is critical condition after a collision with an SUV in Montreal’s St-Michel neighbourhood early Saturday morning.
Following a 9-1-1 call, police arrived on the scene, near the intersection of Pie-IX Blvd. and 44th St., at around 3:45 a.m.
They found the 58-year-old man pedestrian on the ground. He had suffered a head injury and was hospitalized.
