In the wake of the collapse of an Italian overpass in Genoa on Tuesday, the crown corporation responsible for the Champlain and Jacques Cartier bridges said Montreal’s busiest span is completely safe.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) said the Champlain Bridge is “very stable.”

Montreal Alouettes quarterback Johnny Manziel was placed under the CFL concussion protocol on Wednesday afternoon.

Gilbert Rozon allowed to appeal ruling that authorized class action suit
Just for Laughs founder Gilbert Rozon has been granted permission to appeal a recent judgment that authorized a class-action lawsuit against him.
His motion requesting permission to appeal was granted Wednesday by Quebec Court of Appeal Judge Mark Schrager.
Rozon, 63, will be given a chance to present his arguments before Quebec’s highest court and attempt to have the suit dismissed.

Molson Coors will keep its business offices in Montreal when its local brewing operations move to Longueuil in 2021, the company said on Wednesday.

The Sûreté du Québec has opened an investigation after being sent a photo Tuesday showing a motorcyclist who appears to be using his cellphone while driving on the highway.
