Man faces charges in storming of Vice Quebec newsroom
MONTREAL — A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with an incident in May when members of a nationalist, far-right group stormed the Montreal newsroom of Vice Quebec, police said Tuesday.

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with an incident in May when members of a nationalist, far-right group stormed the Montreal newsroom of Vice Quebec.
Montreal police spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc said Tuesday the suspect is facing charges of breaking and entering, mischief, criminal harassment and intimidation.
The man was arrested in Quebec City Monday at the behest of the Montreal police and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

A 78-year-old woman died in hospital after being struck by a car while crossing Papineau Ave. in Rosemont early Tuesday morning.
The woman was walking across the intersection of Papineau Ave. and St-Zotique St. around 6:30 a.m. when a car struck her while making a turn, Montreal police say.

QUEBEC — The Crown says Alexandre Bissonnette, who killed six Muslim men in the Quebec City mosque shooting last year, should get life sentence with no chance for parole for 150 years — the harshest sentence since Canada abolished death penalty.

Power restored after substation problem cuts off 10,000 Montrealers
Power is back for the approximately 10,000 Montreal customers in the Outremont area who were affected by an equipment breakdown Tuesday morning.
The breakdown occurred at the Beaumont substation, which is located in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough, Hydro-Québec spokesperson Jean-Philippe Rousseau said.
