Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin called it a simple “hockey trade” — a one-for-one deal Friday night that sent Alex Galchenyuk to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Max Domi.
When asked Saturday morning during a media scrum at the Bell Centre if the trade might be the first step toward something bigger, Bergevin said: “Not at all. Straight one-for-one.”
Bergevin added that Domi will be in a Canadiens uniform when next season begins.

Côte-St-Luc cold case: Stabbing death haunts daughters 18 years on
At first, Naomi Mouadeb called often. After the initial blur of the first few days, every week or so she picked up the phone and dialled the same number. Then it became every couple of months. Then, gradually, two calls a year became one: every Sept. 2.
The last time she tried calling, in 2015, no one answered.
So Mouadeb, 63, drove across the island instead, from her home in Hampstead to Place Versailles, where she knew the Montreal police force housed its major crimes unit.

Week in review: New liquor and cannabis laws, World Cup comes to Montreal, no more calèches
Last week in session before fall election
The Quebec legislature passed its cannabis bill in anticipation of the federal government legalizing the drug this summer. It’s not all peace and love between Quebec City and Ottawa — the main sticking point is over growing plants in your home. While Ottawa will allow it, Quebec’s law prohibits home-grown pot.
