A Montreal woman who drove her car into a Dollard-des-Ormeaux home at 135 km/h — while three children were sleeping upstairs — will not go to jail.
Melinda Kazandjian, who sped through the residential streets of D.D.O. on Dec. 1, 2013 and crashed into the home of Rachel Toledano, has been sentenced to 240 hours of community service and must pay $4,000 to the family whose home she destroyed — just one per cent of the $400,000 in damages she caused. Four Montreal softball parks that will scare the hell out of you
In light of recent news that the Projet Montréal administration will close a popular softball field in Jeanne-Mance Park over “safety concerns,” here’s an (incomplete) list of Montreal’s most dangerous ball parks.
Editor’s note: I compiled this over seven seasons spent slumming it in the city’s co-ed beer leagues. Some of these observations may reflect my own biases as a hopeless left-fielder who plays in dangerously low-cut jean shorts.

After more than three weeks of on-again, off-again street lights, lifelong St-Laurent resident Bruno Stenson is frustrated.

They’ll likely want a smaller place, but with a big quality of life. A place where it’s easy to walk out the door to be active or meet a friend. Somewhere close to family and friends, likely near the same community where they have put down roots. Hopefully, it would be a place they could stay for a while — ideally as long as possible — before mov -
