Cyclist, 30, dies after accident with truck in Rosemont
During the last year or two, the now-fatal intersection in Rosemont became a four-way stop. The speed limit was reduced to 30 km/hour. And there is now not only a bike lane, but an anti-dooring lane — to stop absent-minded drivers from hitting cyclists as they open their doors.
None of that prevented the collision between a 30-year-old cyclist and a dump truck, however, that cost the cyclist her life Monday, and began the year’s grim tally of cyclists killed on the city’s stree -

Spirit Walk gives Montrealers chance to help healing process of Indigenous women
Nakuset hadn’t even began the sweat lodge ceremony and she was on the verge of fainting.
In a few minutes, she would subject herself to blistering heat in a dark, steamy tent full of strangers. But that wasn’t the source of her angst.
Nakuset — who was one of thousands of Indigenous children taken from her family during the ’60s scoop — had been raised by white parents who taught her to resent her true heritage. To finally begin to embrace her Cree identity was a sc -

Ensemble Montréal denounces closure of Jeanne-Mance Park baseball field
Opposition councillors slammed the city Monday for deciding to eliminate a popular softball field in Jeanne-Mance Park rather than making it safer.
After promising last year that the field at the north end of Jeanne-Mance Park would be reopened by the end of May, the city administration announced two weeks ago that the risk of passersby getting injured by a stray ball was too great, so it would be grassed over.

Video: Police look for stalker in Brossard
Police in Brossard are on the lookout for a possible predator after a fourth woman reported being followed by a man in a grey Dodge Caravan. The incidents occurred in the last three weeks, all within a range of four square kilometres. The most recent happened last Tuesday.
Police are advising young women to pay attention to their surroundings, to lower the volume on their headphones so they can hear someone rushing up from behind, and to keep cellphones at the ready to call 911.
