Montreal unemployment rate rises slightly, remains below Toronto
Montreal’s unemployment rate rose 0.3 percentage points from 5.9 per cent in April to 6.2 per cent in May.
It was down 0.2 percentage points from May 2017.

QUEBEC — Anti-G7 protesters managed to briefly block a boulevard in Quebec City’s Beauport borough Friday morning before dispersing as riot police declared the protest illegal.

Man suspected of racist comments in Laval pharmacy sought by police
Laval police are looking for a man suspected of making racist remarks to a woman at a pharmacy in Laval.
On May 16 around 9 a.m., the woman was making copies at a Pharmaprix at 960 Curé-Labelle Blvd. in the Chomedey area.
