Quebec Liberals add economic uncertainty to reasons they should stay in office
Money to help four-year-olds get daycare, a pitch to Quebec’s anglophones and an attack on François Legault, who Liberals say would probably fail a Canadian version of his own values test.
Quebec’s Liberals this weekend stepped up efforts to square the circle with voters in the continuing battle to incarnate the change Quebecers say they want so badly.
But with the economy moving into uncertain waters, the Liberals trotted out an old weapon in their political arsenal, one used -

Jack Todd: The Vegas Golden Knights are not your father’s expansion team
I can pinpoint the exact moment when I began feeling a little queasy about this manufactured fairy tale with the overblown monicker: the Vegas Golden Knights.
It was the moment they picked up Marc Methot in the expansion draft.
That was when I sensed two things: First, the Knights were going to be better than I thought. Second, the whole thing made me a bit uneasy.
Today, with the Knights everyone’s favourite feel-good story, down a game but definitely not out in this improbable Stanley Cu -

Marc Richardson: Never mind America, let's make libraries great again
I was planning on writing this column from the Aire Commune space in the Mile-End, which is located in a formerly vacant lot near de Gaspé and Bernard Aves. It’s a novel co-working concept driven by the provincial and municipal governments and Mile-End tenants like Ubisoft and Romeo’s Gin, among others. But with the warm weather making the prospect of working outside under the sun less attractive, I settled on an air-conditioned café instead.

Lesley Chesterman's 10 favourite Montreal pizza places
When exactly did Montreal’s pizza scene swivel from old-school pies to the Neapolitan-style pizza that has flooded the scene today? I’d say the fall of 2006, when Bottega Pizzeria opened its doors, and what a thrill ever since it has been to wolf back one excellent pizza after another.Yes, the old-school pizza still hits the spot, but the Naples-style pizza served in the city’s trendiest restaurants are simply sensational, especially when made with homemade ingredients, paired -

The idea caught on, and not only did every teacher in the school soon incorporate a 15-minute run into the school day, half the elementary schools in Scotland and several others in Europe and North America have adopted the program.
