New plan offers hope for those living in the shadow and dust of Turcot
Of the many neighbourhoods adversely affected by the rebuilding of the Turcot, the largest roadwork project in Quebec’s history, it is probably western St-Henri, Ville-Émard and Côte-St-Paul that have suffered the most.
Located just south of the area where Highways 20, 15 and 720 intersect, the almost 30,000 citizens there who live in close-set duplexes and triplexes have long been marginalized by the fact their communities are cut off by highways, off-ramps, overpasses and tr -

Opinion: Canada's anti-tobacco plan is smoke and mirrors
Last year, with great fanfare, the federal health minister announced the Trudeau government’s goal to reduce the rate of tobacco use in Canada to five per cent by 2035.
This “aspirational” target means reducing consumption by one half per cent a year over the next 18 years, an embarrassingly weak objective in the face of entirely preventable diseases, especially when one considers how aggressively governments attack other epidemics.
Regrettably, even this target will likely not -
