Airbus SE plans to cap its takeover of the Bombardier Inc. C Series jetliner by scrapping the Canadian plane’s 14-year-old branding, people familiar with the plan said.

Bail hearing postponed for mother of girl found dead in garbage bin
The mother of a two-year-old girl found dead in a garbage bin in Quebec City last week has had her bail hearing put off until Friday after court was told police are continuing their investigation.
Audrey Gagnon, 23, is described by police as the only suspect in the death of her daughter, Rosalie.
For now, she is charged with obstructing a police officer and arson. (A fire broke out in her cell after her arrest.)

Car strikes 85-year-old woman in east-end Montreal
An 85-year-old woman was in hospital Wednesday morning with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Pointe-aux-Trembles district.
The incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. at the corner of Sherbrooke St. and St. Jean Baptiste Blvd. Police investigators are on the scene.
The driver, a woman in her 60s, remained at the scene and police say alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the incident.

QUEBEC — According to a prisoner detained with Quebec mosque shooter Alexandre Bissonnette, the convicted killer reportedly grew angry while watching a news report on one of the shooting’s survivors.

REM: Stretch of Deux-Montagnes line to shut for two years
Commuters on the Deux-Montagnes train line — Montreal’s busiest commuter rail service — will no longer be able to use the train on Friday evenings and weekends by the end of this week because of work being done on the REM light-rail system.

Cuts to commuter train service coming as REM construction begins
