Highway 40 fully re-opened after spectacular accident
Highway 40 was completely re-opened Thursday morning after being completely and then partially closed for close to 20 hours.
The thoroughfare was shut down in both directions at about 11:30 a.m., after a semi-trailer, its box left in the raised position, hit a pedestrian bridge at full speed, it load of canola seed exploding ad scattering across the the highway.

A 150-year term would be 'death sentence' for mosque gunman, defence says
Putting Alexandre Bissonnette behind bars for 150 years would be the equivalent of a “death sentence by incarceration,” say the defence lawyers representing him, and they intend to argue in court for a life sentence with no possibility of parole before 25 years.
