If you’re waiting for the Expos return to Montreal, think of yourself as a hitter facing the late, great Pascual Perez.
You’re dug in, expecting the high heat, when Perez shakes his Jheri curls, does a little dipsy-doodle on the mound — and comes at you with the Pascual pitch, a.k.a. the Eephus pitch, a.k.a. l’arc-en-ciel, that slow-moving rainbow that lands in the catcher’s mitt about the time the last of the fans are trickling out of the stadium.

Hundreds attend vigil in support of Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou's family
Around 200 people gathered in a local church on Saturday night to bring a message of hope to the family of Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou, who disappeared on March 12 in Montreal’s Ahuntsic Cartierville borough.
Members of 10-year-old boy’s family were in attendance at the candlelight vigil.
Without ruling out other possibilities, Montreal police said earlier this week that they were convinced the boy headed to a nearby park after realizing his friend wasn’t home and dr -
Fitness: Turning your walk into a workout is all about pace
After a long, cold, snowy winter, there’s no better way to celebrate sunshine and double-digit temperatures than going for a walk. With no learning curve and little in the way of gear to buy, walking is a great option for anyone trying to achieve their fitness goals.
Yet despite the number of people shaking off the winter doldrums by heading out for a spring stroll, there’s more to walking than just smelling the roses. To reap all it has to offer, you need to do more than simply put -

About 800 people marched through downtown Montreal to protest against the recent pay increase negotiated between the province and its medical specialists. West Island perspective on woeful Canadiens
Here’s how we haul the train wreck that is the Montreal Canadiens out of the sinkhole they have been hopelessly whirling about in for the last few years (That’s what happens when Patrick Roy tells management where to get off and they don’t give Scotty Bowman a promotion.): The answer is staring us in the face. Sebastian Vettel wins Australian GP; Lance Stroll 14th
MELBOURNE, Australia — Believing his Ferrari still lacks the race pace to fully challenge Mercedes in Formula One, Sebastian Vettel will take a little luck when he can get it.
On Sunday at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, his Ferrari team benefitted not only from a smart pit-stop strategy, but also the fortuitous emergence of a safety car midway through the race that helped Vettel take the lead from rival Lewis Hamilton and hold on for victory.

In the Habs' Room: Coach has confidence in Price, but his numbers tell a different story
What, me worry?
Canadiens coach Claude Julien borrowed a page out of the Alfred E. Neuman playbook Saturday night when he said he wasn’t worried about goaltender Carey Price, who is struggling through the worst season of his NHL career.
“‘There’s a goaltender on the other side, (Braden) Holtby, who’s having the same kind of year that Pricey is and he’s a pretty good goaltender,” Julien said after Price finished on the short end of a 6-4 count against the -
Game Report: Habs hit sour note after strong start against Capitals
The bottom line: Alex Ovechkin failed to pick up a point, but it didn’t matter because his teammates made life miserable for Carey Price and the Canadiens as the Washington Capitals coasted to a 6-4 win Saturday night at the Bell Centre.
Promising start: The Canadiens opened the scoring when Jacob de la Rose separated Jakub Vrana from the puck in the neutral zone and sent Alex Galchenyuk in alone for his 17th goal of the season at 8:35. Montreal thought it had a 2-0 lead when Br -

About last night … Canadiens lose 6-4 to Caps
Let’s get the nonsense out of the way:
The disallowed Brendan Gallagher goal, which would have made it 2-0, was not the turning point of the game.
The national anthems were the turning point.
After those spectacularly inept warbles, the puck dropped and the home team skated off to a 1-0 … and nearly 2-0 … lead on a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
But these are the 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens, for whom good starts are very rarely sustainable.

Liveblog: Washington beats Canadiens 6-4
Evgeni Kuznetsov’s second power-play goal made it 5-2, seemingly sealing the deal 1:10 into the third period.
Then Jakub Jerabek, of all people, made it 6-2.
But it wasn’t over. Late goals by Charles Hudon and, on the power play, Jonathan Drouin made the final score deceptively respectable.
A last-second second-period goal by Hudon had followed four unanswered goals by the visitors.
Jay Beagle tapped home a point shot to make it 4-1 five minutes into the second.

Montreal collegiate standouts hope to be noticed at CFL combine
