UQAM study looks at women who remain virgins later than most
“When I started CEGEP, there were a few of us who were still virgins at 17 but then at the end, like right now, I’m the only one from this group of 10 girls. … Some days I feel like it sucks — because of the fact that I do wanna discover it and I feel like I’m missing out on some part of the human experience. And because I’m so sick of the judging.”— Jade, a virgin at 26

Shelter: Living in the heart of art in Lower Westmount
Mary Rivard-David and Claude David don’t consider themselves to be serious art collectors in the sense of buying art as investments, but they know what they like and have been acquiring paintings since they were newlyweds.
Now in their mid-70s and retired (Claude from accounting, Mary from teaching English as a second language), these two Franco-Ontarians met at the University of Windsor and bought their first painting on a trip to Rome.

Milaine hoped to buy some children’s paints for her 10-year-old daughter. Martin dreamed of taking his kids to Trois-Rivières to see their grandmother. Hughette, in the grip of a rare and fatal form of cancer, was looking to treat herself to something special for her last Christmas.
Those are some of the stories we shared with you in December during our annual Montreal Gazette Christmas Fund campaign. I am happy to report that thanks to your generosity, Milaine, Martin an -
A Montreal-born woman and her birth mother reunite, a lifetime later
When Joan Gallagher decided to give her baby up for adoption, it was because she wanted a better life for her daughter than the one she knew she, as a 21-year-old woman on her own in 1957, could provide.
The social worker at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she gave birth on July 14, told her that seeing her baby would only make it more difficult to sign the adoption papers, but Gallagher insisted. She held her infant daughter, sang to her, promised she would love her always — and then it -

P.K. Subban is back in Montreal and reminding us why we miss him
It’s been more than a year. We really should all have come to terms with the trade by now.
Easier said than done.
Case in point: P.K. Subban was back in Montreal on Friday, and you better believe he visited the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Not only that, he convinced his teammates to join him on the excursion and somehow talked them into what might be described as dancing. (The less said about their moves, the better.)
Words cannot describe the happiness this day brings me. The -
