“It’s a reset,” said Niemi, who is 2-1-1 after making 43 saves in Montreal’s 5-2 win Saturday afternoon. “It’s about

Habs Game Report: Backup goalie Niemi blocks 43 shots to help snap' losing streak
The bottom line: Backup goaltender Antti Niemi turned in a strong performance as the Canadiens snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday afternoon at the Bell Centre. Niemi, who was making only his third start since Nov. 25, turned aside 43 shots as he ran his record with the Canadiens to 2-1-1. After years of neglect, Montreal's iconic Snowdon Theatre is sold
Montreal has found a buyer for the Snowdon Theatre, a once-stylish venue that became a sad relic — a magnet for vandals and arsonists.
The sale — for $1.6 million, $200,000 less than the city paid for it in 2004 — is conditional on the new owner preserving the historic facade of the building, on Décarie Blvd., just north of Queen-Mary Rd. The interior, however, has been too badly damaged by a 2016 fire to be salvaged, the city said.

Stu Cowan: Habs fan’s backyard ice shrine brings neighbours together
The Canadiens didn’t give their fans anything to cheer about in Thursday night’s 2-0 loss to the Hurricanes in Carolina, but that didn’t spoil the party inside Derek Parker’s backyard ice castle/bar in Brossard.
Parker, a diehard Canadiens fan, started building his ice castle on Dec. 14 and finished on Jan. 8, spending more than 100 hours working on it. It is 30 feet long, 12 feet wide and 6½ feet high, built from 568 blocks of ice measuring 12x12x15 inches that Pa -

Genie Bouchard, who has some free time this weekend after losing in the quarterfinals of Taiwan’s Kaohsiung tennis tournament on Friday, will be attending this Sunday’s Super Bowl with a fan she met over Twitter.

Liveblog: Anaheim at Canadiens
What’s the over/under on the number of Canadiens fans who show up wearing paper bags?
And how far into Saturday afternoon’s game against Anaheim will we get before the first boos are heard at the Bell Centre?

Which could eventuate, because the visitors will be motivated.

Shelter: From Stockholm to Verdun, with love (and a dog named Sture)
When Stefan Seibert learned that his company was transferring him from Stockholm to Montreal, his live-in girlfriend, Trine Jørgensen, jumped at the chance to go along.
