What the Puck: As fans tune out, Habs need a fresh front-office voice
My friends have stopped watching Habs games.
Almost all of my close pals live for the Montreal Canadiens. We talk about them endlessly. Many of us play hockey. When we get off the ice on Sunday nights, we crack open a few cold ones and we over-analyze the team we’re obsessed with. We love the Habs more than you can imagine. And these people have stopped watching.

The Napoleon complex is showcased at Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
Nearly all of us have an image and conception of Napoleon Bonaparte. The erstwhile Corsican customs clerk who delivered France from the trauma of its post-Revolution reign of terror and restored a monarchy, conveniently with himself as the self-proclaimed divinely ordained head, was also the endlessly ambitious expansionist whose fatal hubris was such that nearly two centuries after his death his very name is a universally understood shorthand for overcompensation. But no matter your view, whethe -

Bill Zacharkiw's Wines of the Week: Feb. 2, 2018
Under $16
Rioja 2016, Genoli, Ijalba, Spain white, $14.30, SAQ # 883033. I always enjoy drinking this wine. Nervy and twitchy, but not without some texture. Minerality is there to ground the wine. Fruit is primarily citrus, moving toward passion fruit and melon. Once again, a great, inexpensive and very interesting white. Residual sugar: 1.7 g/L. Grape variety: viura. Serve at: 8-10 C. Drink now. Food pairing idea: apéritif, ceviche, goat cheese salads.

Bill Zacharkiw: Steak tartare deserves a rich and spicy white wine
I’m a bit of a “crudivore”: I love raw things. From fish to beef, if I can eat it raw, I will. I wrote last year about salmon tartare, and how it is best served with a red — pinot noir in particular. But that’s not much of a stretch. I recently received an email from a reader who said that after years of trying many of my food and wine pairing ideas, he finally tried a white with tartare and was “blown away” at how it was such a perfect match.I -

“I’m just amazed that his base doesn’t seem to be perturbed by any of this,” says Lashley, this year’s Montreal Black History Month spokesperson. “If Americans re-elect him in 2020, I think we’re all in f -
