What’s in a name?
Speaking at the Jan. 29 vigil to mark the anniversary of the 2017 Quebec City mosque shooting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau referred to “these ‘nonos’ who wear dog paws on their T-shirts,” which means … well, what does it mean?
It’s not a term of endearment. That much seems clear. The comment provoked an angry backlash from people associated with La Meute, which does have a paw as its logo. But if there’s broad consensus t

How many players can you name on the new-look roster for the Impact?
That’s a good question to ask the average Montreal sports fan and the response could be a concern for the Impact after an off-season that saw the departure of head coach Mauro Biello, captain Patrice Bernier and Ballou Tabla — three homegrown talents — along with fan favourites Laurent Ciman, Hassoun Camara, Ambroise Oyongo, Hernan Bernardello and designated-player Blerim Dzemaili.

Opinion: At long last, butter worthy of the name
Where we came from, food was rationed. But the Communists had just given back my uncle’s notarial licence, so my aunt, the notary’s secretary, took payments in chickens, eggs, vegetables and butter. Grateful country folk always found a way.
The butter, which came from Flower, a cow I knew personally, was wonderful. I thought about Flower and her butter often in Canada, which welcomed us with open arms and terrible butter from anonymous cows in 1954. The butter stayed awful for 63 yea -
