Brasserie Le Manoir in Pointe-Claire was slapped with a 10-day suspension of its liquor licence by Quebec’s Régie des alcools for contravention of provincial liquor laws.
The ban came into effect Jan. 23 and ends Friday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m.

Montreal will close two small water-filtration plants in a $235-million plan that aims to improve water security in Dorval and Lachine.
As part of a 10-year plan, Montreal will close plants in Dorval and Lachine, leaving the city with four to cover the island, the city announced Tuesday.
The two plants slated for closure produce less than 5 per cent of the water treated on the island.

STM quietly killing off its mobile application
The Société de transport de Montréal is killing off its mobile application, saying the work is better left to third-party developers.

OTTAWA — The Montreal Alouettes re-acquired Patrick Lavoie from the Ottawa Redblacks for J.C. Beaulieu in a swap of Canadian fullbacks on Tuesday.

When it’s cold, Yussra Ballan’s wrist aches. Ballan, 40, a Syrian refugee who has been in Montreal since 2016, dislocated her right wrist in 2013, when she was pulling her children out from the rubble after a bombed-out building collapsed onto their apartment in Damascus.
