The Sûreté du Québec is urging possible victims of a gymnastics coach suspected of a series of sexual assaults more than 20 years ago to step forward and aid them in their investigation.
The coach, whom the SQ is not identifying because their investigation is ongoing but is now believed to be living outside of Quebec, is suspected of assaulting at least seven victims in the early 1990s, all of whom were girls age 10 to 20 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

Stu Cowan: Vladimir Guerrero will be first Angel in Hall's outfield
In a way, it’s fitting that Vladimir Guerrero will enter the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., this summer wearing an Angels cap instead of an Expos cap.
Guerrero made that official on Thursday, a day after being voted into the Hall of Fame in his second year of eligibility. His Angels cap is just another heartbreaking moment for Montreal baseball fans in a long list of them.
As former Gazette sports columnist Michael Farber put it in the MLB Network’s wonderful documentary -

Show Biz Chez Nous: Villeneuve's Blade Runner doesn't merit Oscar love
There was much hand-wringing in Quebec this week with folks grumbling that Denis Villeneuve was snubbed by Oscars voters.
That’s hogwash. Blade Runner 2049 did not receive Academy Award nominations for best picture or best director for the very simple reason that it didn’t deserve those honours. Villeneuve nabbed both those nominations last year for Arrival, but that’s because Arrival is a brilliant piece of filmmaking. Blade Runner not so much. The latest Villeneuve film is a -

Father and son pianists do their duelling on stage
It sure beats pistols, but regardless, duelling pianos can also bring out a level of aggression among its participants. Even if the duelling pianists are a father/son tandem.
Eddie Bullen and his son Quincy have been facing off in piano duels around this continent for the last seven years. Their tickling of the ivories may take on a competitive tone as they push each other on stage, but the result is a captivating recital of their interpretations of jazz, classical and contemporary standards.

Judge's past comments questioned during manslaughter sentencing
A Quebec Court Judge has been placed in the rare and very awkward position of having to determine if comments she made in the past, when she was a defence lawyer, are evidence she was prejudiced against police officers when she convicted one of manslaughter last year.
