Cleanup time – again – after Montreal blanketed by winter storm
After a nasty winter storm dumped 36 centimetres of snow on the Montreal region, snow removal crews were to be back at work on Sunday night cleaning up the mess.
The city said it could take more than five days before all streets and sidewalks are cleared, because in some boroughs, crews had not yet finished removing snow from the previous storm. It is the fourth snow removal operation this winter.

Montreal police are asking for the public’s helping in locating Annie Pier Le Buis, who left her group home in Mercier—Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Jan. 12, and has not been seen since.

Woman dies in east-end Montreal fire
A 68-year-old woman died in a fire that broke out in her home on Saturday night in the Pointe-aux-Trembles neighbourhood in east-end Montreal.
The fire began just before midnight in the victim’s apartment — one of 45 apartments in a building located on Sherbrooke St., near 51st Ave.
Firefighters discovered the woman’s body after extinguishing the fire.
