• Man's body found outdoors in Quebec City

  The lifeless body of a man was discovered early Monday morning in the snow outside a building in the central La Cité-Limoilou borough of Quebec City.
  The body, discovered by a passer-by, was nearly nude, according to a TVA report, and the man appeared to be age 35 to 40. Other media reports put his age at about 60.

  There is, it turns out, limited overlap between the skills of soccer players and Christmas elves. 
  That, at least, is the conclusion to be drawn from Samuel Piette and Anthony Jackson-Hamel’s work in the Montreal Impact’s Christmas video.
  Behind-the-scenes footage shows the players goofing around and trying to kick a soccer ball around in elf costumes.

• Three families displaced by Longueuil apartment fire

  A fire in a Longueuil apartment building forced the occupants of 30 units to escape in a rush on Christmas Eve. 
  The majority of the tenants in Poincaré St. building were able to return after the fire, which did not cause any injuries.
  Three apartments, however, were too damaged for their occupants to return. About 10 people are receiving help from the Red Cross to find a place to stay. 
  Firefighters think the fire started in the kitchen of a basement apartment.

  Three people were arrested on Sunday in the Montérégie region during a Sûreté du Québec raid of a cannabis grow-op. 
  The operation took place in a Sainte-Marthe residence, south of Rigaud. 
  Officers discovered and seized more than 300 cannabis plants, more than 700 cuttings, cocaine, hashish and production equipment. 
  One of the people arrested, a 30-year-old Laval woman, was released under a promise to appear in court at a later date.

  A 32-year-old woman died after a fire broke out Sunday afternoon in the basement unit of a LaSalle duplex.
  Following a 911 call at about 1:30 p.m., firefighters controlled the fire, which had started in the kitchen of the dwelling, located on Thierry St. near Corner St. They found the woman on the floor on the floor, overcome by smoke, said Montreal police spokesperson Carolyn Chèvrefils.
