Highway 40 East closes in Vaudreuil after truck spills fuel
Transport Quebec closed a stretch of Highway 40 East on the approach to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge in Vaudreuil Tuesday afternoon after a long-haul truck jackknifed, provincial police said.
The accident resulted in the spill of diesel fuel on the highway. The incident occurred at 12:40 p.m.

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion tabled a municipal budget of $75.3 million for 2018.

Anglophones do more volunteer work than their francophone neighbours, a new Quebec study suggests.

Update: Montreal police probe hate messages to two local synagogues
B’nai Brith Canada now says that at least five synagogues across Canada have been hit with anti-Semitic hate mail, including the two in Montreal.
Montreal police announced earlier Tuesday that they had opened an investigation into “Jewry must perish” messages received this week by the Beth Ora and Shaare Zedek synagogues. The messages, sent during the celebration of Hannukah, depict a bleeding Star of David covered by a swastika.

Terror trial update: Djermane not guilty, Jamali convicted on explosives charge
The jury in the trial of Sabrine Djermane and El Mahdi Jamali has found one of the accused not guilty on all four charges and another guilty of only one charge.
Djermane was found not guilty of the four counts she faced, including the charge alleging she wanted to leave Canada to join ISIL.
